Definition

Education is the process of facilitating learning,or the acquisition of knowledge,skills,values,morals,beliefs,and habits.

Meaning of Education

 The word education is derived from Latin words  ,Educare , Educere, and Educatum .

The meaning of these words are :-

1 The word Educare means  ----- to train, to nourish , to bring

2.The word Educere means  ------ to lead forth  ,to draw out.

3.The word ."Educatum"  is composed of two terms, "E" and "Duco" .

The meaning of these words are:-

1." E" implies a movement from inward to out word.

2."Duco" means developing or progressing.

Importance of Education

Education is very necessary for each and everyone ,in order to improve knowledge ,way of living as well as social and economic status throughout the life .

Sanskrit  Terminology

Sanskrit terminology "Shiksha" and "Vidya" also stands as equivalent of term Education .Meaning of these words are as follows:-

1."Shiksha" word is derived from "Shah" meaning to control or to discipline.

2."Vidya" word is derived from "Vidh",which means to know.

Discipline and knowledge are the most important aspects of human personality during ancient period of  Education.
